Itinerary

The Association of Americans and Canadians in Israel's (AACI) newest program - GROUP PILOT TRIPS - is for people who are considering aliyah. A group pilot trip can be considered the most important business trip of your life, and a wonderful investment in your future. It is a one week tour-lecture program that incorporates community visits, lectures by professionals who were once olim (new immigrants) themselves, on many topics including Banking in Israel, Navigating the Medical/Health care System, the Educational System in Israel, Your Aliyah Benefits and Privileges, Shipping, Insurances and Investments, Job Hunting and Employment Networking, Cultural and Religious life in Israel, and much much more.

The Pilot Trip includes visiting communities, where hosts give the group a tour of their community and then meet with representatives from that community who tell about life in that community, including cost of housing, types of schools, accessibility to shopping, public transportation and the population make-up of English speakers, Israelis, religious and non-religious and age demographics.

Aliyah professionals, including the Jewish Agency and Nefesh B’Nefesh urge potential olim to participate in a group pilot trip prior to aliyah, because the ease of integration and satisfaction regarding choice of community among olim who have come on a pilot trip is greatly enhanced. A GROUP PILOT TRIP can be more significantly more effective than a private visit. The people you meet and network with, the information that is given to you over the course of the week and the connections that you build that build prior to aliyah are invaluable.

Who would AACI entrust your pre-aliyah needs and every question to but the two most experienced pilot trip leaders in Israel? Ilene Bloch Levy and Ronda Israel, Co- Directors of the AACI Group Pilot Trips Program, who developed the format and perfected the details for making pre-aliyah Group Pilot Trips the success they have been for years. The information they share with you and the manner in which they conduct the trips are professional, warm and informative. The trips are formulated with the participant’s needs in mind. The itinerary is based not only on what you think you are looking for with regard to housing – cost and availability, location, religious and educational needs but also exposes you to new upcoming community opportunities you may not be aware of.

Keep in mind that the cost of a pilot trip includes all meals, lodging, ground transportation with the group and all informational packets and job counseling with AACI employment experts. It does not include airfare. If you want to put together a community pilot trip of 10 or more families AACI can give your group their own dates for a trip.

The dates for the next group pilot trip is May 26- June 1 (Memorial Day Weekend).

IMPORTANT PLEASE READ:

Your payment in full by check to AACI or via our Paypal secure online charge system (from April 2008 only) will reserve your place on the pilot trip you have indicated. If you will need extra days in the hotel, fill out the information below. Please add these amounts to your total payment on your credit card charge**. Any changes in hotel accommodations made during your stay in Israel will result in a $25 change fee and must be paid by check the day of your request. Otherwise accommodations cannot be changed or arranged. Registration and full payment must be at least 3 weeks prior to your Pilot Trip first day to guarantee a room with the group in the same hotel.

I/We understand that the cost of the AACI Group Pilot Trip is based on double occupancy. If I am coming alone and don't want to share a room, there is an additional charge of $300 US. I further understand that if sharing a room during the pilot trip, I want to change the arrangement and room alone, I will be charged the additional $300 room charge for myself and for the person I no longer share a room with.

Release Statement

Submission of this application form indicates that you agree to and accept all the terms of the pilot trip including the following:

AACI reserves the right to cancel a trip due to insufficient registration. Reminder: The purchase of non-refundable tickets is NOT recommended. In the event that AACI cancels a pilot trip, your deposit will be refunded or you may apply it to a future pilot trip.

AACI and its respective agents bear no responsibility for:

any expenses incurred by cancellation;
any liability for participants’ health, safety and property during the Pilot Trip.

Responsibility for all medical, dental, hospital and nursing services and care that participants require, will be paid by the participants to the provider of such services and/or to AACI should they advance payment for the charges for such services and/or any other expenses incurred.

AACI cannot be responsible for people who arrive in Israel without full payment and registration at least 3 weeks prior to the pilot trip date.
