Located on the main street of the ancient mountaintop city of Safed in northern Israel is a treasure known to a constantly growing number of Israelis and foreigners alike. What common interest draws some 500 English speakers up the mountain?  Simply a love of books, and the opportunity to find them at the Safed English Library. The attractive new street entrance makes the library more convenient, allowing the disabled easy access to the two upper rooms.
The Stamp Club meets at the library on the first Friday of every month, at 12:45.

You are invited to a HET zoom acting training with Ella Fuksbranner --
back by popular demand!
Meeting times are Tuesday 2 June at 20:00 and  Wednesday 3 June at 20:00.
This is a two-session zoom encounter focused on interpretation.  Repeat performers
are welcome!
After you present the monologue of your choice, you will receive Ella's feedback.
The monologue provides one of the most important, exciting components of acting. As interpreters, it gives us space to develop the different colors of our character.  The monologue allows us to tell meaningful stories within the story.
The training will be as follows:
·        This is a two-session zoom encounter.
·        Registration is required by Tuesday 26 May.
·        To register, email your name and phone number to h.e.theatre@gmail.com.
·        Each actor must choose a monologue and prepare it in advance.
·        The monologue must not exceed 1 - 2 minutes.  Shorter is better.
·        Each actor will be given a performance number after registration, and an entry link to the sessions will be provided.
·        In the first zoom encounter, each actor will perform their monologue (from a sitting or standing position facing the camera).
·        After each monologue presentation, Ella will provide feedback (strengths, vulnerabilities, how to improve performance).
·        In the second zoom encounter, each actor will once again present their monologue, integrating the feedback they received.
·        After the second presentation of the monologue, Ella will provide further feedback.
·        Chat comments and questions will be welcome at the second session.
 ·        All zoom participants will remain visible and online for the entirety of each session, observing all monologues and feedback.
·        Entry to the sessions will begin at 19:50
·        Observers are welcome, but must register in advance by emailing their name and phone number to h.e.theatre@gmail.com
Remember:  You’re telling a story, delivering a message, as well as breathing life into a character. Enjoy!
