AACI BURIAL PLOTS
FOR YOUR INFORMATION
The Association of American and Canadians in Israel (AACI), as a public service to its ever growing membership and for families of members still abroad, maintains major sections in 2 prestigious burial grounds:
(1) Eretz HaChaim Cemetery, located less than one half hour from Jerusalem, just before Bet Shemesh, past the Shimshon Junction (off Shaar HaGai Exit on Jerusalem/Tel Aviv Highway).
(2)
Har HaMenuchot Cemetery, the official municipal burial grounds of
Jerusalem. The cemetery is in the
Givat Shaul
neighborhood and our specific AACI section is in the Har Tamir Section and
walking
distance from the
Bet Hesped Funeral Parlor (and is handicapped accessible).
As a service to the membership of
AACI, the Cemetery and Bereavement Committee has prepared a new updated second
edition of this vital brochure for future reference, when the inevitable time
comes and a death occurs in the family circle. We hope the following information
will help you during your time of grief. This booklet is a ‘step by step’
guide to make this painful, traumatic period less stressful. We have tried to
anticipate all of your needs in making the necessary funeral/burial
arrangements.
BEREAVEMENT COUNSELING
Many people require grief counseling when a death occurs. Especially when there are small children the need often arises for some professional to assist in helping the family cope with their bereavement. The AACI offers this service. We have a staff of volunteer Rabbis, affiliated with the various branches of Judaism, who are anxious to help during this time of crises. We invite you to turn to us if such a need arises.
