AACI - WHO WE ARE
The
Association of Americans and Canadians in Israel (AACI) is a
voluntary, Zionist organization serving approximately 120,000
North Americans living in Israel.
We are dedicated to the successful absorption of these
North American Israelis into Israeli society.
AACI actively encourages Aliyah, helps newcomers
acclimate, provides ongoing services to veteran olim ("vatikim"),
engages in programs to enhance the quality of life for all
Israelis, provides social activities and works towards building
stronger ties between North American Jewry and Israel.
AACI
has an active cadre of volunteers who work together with a staff
of trained professionals to offer a variety of services and
programs throughout the country.
AACI - WHAT WE DO
- Pre-aliyah services -
AACI, working in close cooperation with the Jewish agency Aliyah
department, supplies pre-aliyah information to
potential olim (immigrants).
Subjects cover a broad range of topics about aliyah
(immigration) and klitah (absorption).
- Klitah (Absorption)
Counseling - trained professional counselors provide
information, guidance and advice on topics including
employment, health services, education, housing, immigration
rights and absorption concerns.
- Employment assistance - A
team of professional "job developers" at AACI
can assist in all areas of employment and re-training.
- The AACI Employment
Resource Center operates a Referral Service to further our
commitment to assisting both new and veteran olim in finding
positions. The goal of our efforts is to create a means of
introducing prospective employers and employees to each other.
When you notify our offices of openings in your company or
organization, we will inform appropriate candidates to make
contact with you, according to your needs and direction.
Please note that AACI Employment Referral Service is not an
employment agency. We can refer reasonably suitable candidates
to you, but the responsibility to screen and interview remains
up to you.
- Lobbying and Quality of Life
- AACI, while politically unaligned, lobbies on klitah
issues.
- Social activities - AACI
units throughout the country arrange a variety of social and
cultural activities for all ages, including clubs, lectures,
outings, entertainment and much, much more.
