A MESSAGE FROM THE NEW PRESIDENT OF AACI Dear friends, As newly elected national President of AACI I would like to take this opportunity first of all to thank you for the confidence you have placed in me to lead our organization. As I have said many a time AACI is all of us together working to help others and to make our community better than ever. I would like at this time to quote from our constitution in order to refresh our memory as to the aims and purposes of our organization. Our aims and purposes are 1) to assist members and prospective members to become integrated and participate in the life of Israel as rapidly and fully as possible, by extending to members and prospective members such advice, guidance, assistance, and services as will facilitate such integration. The services of the Association shall include but not be limited to: reception, housing, job placement, loans, counseling, social, cultural, and educational activities. 2) to represent the interests of members and prospective members in their dealings with national and local governments as well as other official agencies on matters affecting such integration. 3) to design and execute programs and activities that will encourage Americans and Canadians to come on Aliyah and to work for conditions in Israel fostering this end. 4) to encourage actions at all levels of the organization to improve the quality of life in Israel and to demonstrate our heritage of tolerance and democratic values through active participation and involvement in public issues. 5) to help Americans and Canadians better understand Israel, and to help Israelis better understand the Jewish communities of America and Canada. 6) to educate its members and the public about these aims and purposes.
